Engaging and Educating Student Voters on Your Campus
Monday, August 8, 2016, 1:00-2:00PM Eastern
Ever worry that the students of today–the future of our country–aren’t making important decisions based on accurate sources of information? That they’re apathetic, and only getting their “news” from sensationalized headings and Twitter feeds? You’re not alone! Join Connect & Communicate for a PA Forward Civic and Social Literacy event featuring a panel of newspaper editors and staff discuss their newspapers’ efforts to engage and educate voters. This discussion is particularly relevant for the 2016 election season.
Panelists include Tom Murse, Content Editor at LNP (Lancaster), Scott Fisher, Engagement Editor at the York Daily Record, and Gabriella Santoliquito, Social Media Manager from the Daily Collegian. Discussion will be moderated by Paula Knudsen, Director of Government Affairs/Legislative Counsel from Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association.
